80's Friday night TV show-themed chess set!!!*!
King: David Hasselhoff out of Knight Rider.
Queen: Possible Daisy Duke, or Erin Gray out of Buck Rogers. Unless you're prepared to accept that Xena was an 80's show in spirit, in which case, Xena.
Bishops: Michael J. Fox out of Family Ties, or maybe Magnum.
Knights: Jon and Ponch out of CHiPs.
Rooks: Mr T.
Pawns: not sure; either the chimp out of BJ and the Bear or Gary Coleman.
Yes! Winner! If you don't agree, it's probably because you can't appreciate my total godlike genius or something.

I'd alter it to have:
David and Maddy from 'Moonlighting' as King and Queen. Or possibly the husband and wife team from 'Hart to Hart'.
The Hoff as one bishop, Magnum as the other.
Starbuck and Apollo from the original Battlestar Galactica as the Knights.
KITT and the General Lee as the Rooks
The adorable moppets from every saccharine family sitcom of the 80s as the pawns, including Gary Coleman, Missy Gold, Keshia Knight Pulliam and all the other little hellspawn.
I've not yet worked out how to include BJ and the Bear, Automan or the Greatest American Hero. We may need bigger chess sets.
